Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
The short version
- Everything in a Thoughtfully Profile comes from the person it describes, and they choose what to share.
- A profile is only visible to the person who invited them, and anyone they explicitly share it with.
- We never sell your data.
- You can update or remove your information at any time.
1. Who we are
Thoughtfully is a gifting app that helps you understand the people you care about, so the gifts you give feel personal. This policy covers our website, the Thoughtfully mobile apps, and the profile links we send when someone is invited. When we say “we”, “us” or “Thoughtfully”, we mean the team behind Thoughtfully.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Waitlist. Your email address, so we can tell you when we launch.
- Your account and membership. Your name, email, and the plan you choose.
- Your own Thoughtfully Profile. Anything you choose to add, such as important dates, interests, personal style, favorite colors, values and causes, flowers, food and dining, entertainment, music, wishlists, clothing, shoe and ring sizes, and registries.
- People you invite. The email address of each person you invite, and the profile details they choose to fill in.
- Messages. Anything you send us when you get in touch.
If someone invited you
You don't need an account or the app to fill in your profile. You just open the link. We collect the details you enter, and the email address the person who invited you provided.
Payments
Paid memberships are handled by a third-party payment processor. They collect and process your payment details under their own privacy policy. We receive the details we need to run your membership, such as your plan, billing status and renewal date.
Technical information
Like most websites and apps, our servers may receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser and device type, IP address, and the pages you view. We use it to keep things running and secure.
3. How we use it
- To run Thoughtfully: create profiles, send invitations, and keep each person's details organized.
- To manage memberships, billing, and renewals.
- To email you about the waitlist, your account, and launch news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To run the Founding Members Wall and badges, if you're a Founding Member.
- To answer your questions and give support.
- To keep Thoughtfully safe, fix problems and improve the product.
- To meet legal obligations.
Thoughtfully doesn't pick gifts for you. We give you the insight that people chose to share, and the final choice is always yours.
4. Who can see a Thoughtfully Profile
Only the person who invited the profile owner, and anyone the profile owner chooses to share it with. Your profile is your information. You control what you share and who sees it.
5. The Founding Members Wall
If you become a Founding Member, your name and photo are displayed publicly on the Founding Members Wall, along with your member number. We only add you with your permission, and the wall is meant to be a lasting record. If you'd like your name or photo removed, email us at info@giftthoughtfully.com and we'll take care of it.
7. Your choices
- Update anytime. Profiles can be edited whenever your tastes change.
- Remove anytime. You can remove your information, or ask us to delete your account and data.
- Unsubscribe. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Ask us. You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy law, such as the right to object to or limit certain uses. Email info@giftthoughtfully.com and we'll help. We may need to confirm it's really you first.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active, or as long as we need it to give you Thoughtfully. When you ask us to delete something, we remove it, unless the law requires us to keep some of it, for example billing records.
9. Keeping it safe
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise absolute security, but we take it seriously.
10. Children
Thoughtfully is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us their details, email us and we'll delete them once confirmed.
11. Where your information is processed
Our service providers may process information in different countries. Where we do, we take steps so your information stays protected as described in this policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Thoughtfully grows. When we make an important change, we'll update the date at the top and let you know.
